Why we're building Partbase.

Problem

In 2025, most spare parts in the €100+ billion European MRO market (Maintenance, Repair & Operations) are still purchased offline through traditional channels via email or telephone. This non-standardized and non-automated approach leads (at least in our industrial sectors of hydraulics, pneumatics & compressed air) to unnecessarily long purchasing cycles (⌀ approx. 48 hours from initial contact to purchase completion) and involves significant manual, repetitive work that is not only time-consuming but also costly - for both buyers and sellers. The few industrial B2B online shops that exist today are generally not sufficiently customer-oriented and are based on outdated technologies and operating models.

Partbase was born from the need to create Europe's best MRO purchasing platform. A platform that people enjoy using, that saves time and delivers quick results. On Partbase, the entire purchasing process, administration, and purchasing team management is made as simple as possible. We provide immediate access to all relevant purchasing and product information, integrate partner inventories for quick availability, and enable purchases in less than 1 minute, available 24/7 throughout Europe.

Who Enables Us

Partbase is the online brand and an independently managed company that emerged from the rapidly growing hydraulics, pneumatics, and compressed air company WK Hydraulik. The managing partners of WK Hydraulik, Marc Jäger and Sebastian Leuschner, recognized that building a European digital champion in the MRO sector is a challenge – especially from an established company and with a very German-sounding owner name. Therefore, they decided to develop Partbase as an independent brand from the ground up – detached from the parent company, but with targeted support, particularly through the warehouse infrastructure. At the same time, they realized that building a completely new business field with their own talents and resources would be difficult to manage. That's why they brought our team on board. We are excited to build Partbase together with WK Hydraulik and shape the future of the MRO market.
